Cold Brew Brewing Guide

Cold Brew Brewing Guide

Step 1: Measure Coffee and Water
Use a coffee-to-water ratio of about 1:4 or 1:5, depending on your taste preferences. For example, if you use 200g of coffee, aim for 800-1000g of water. Adjust as needed.

Step 2: Coarse Grinding (If Grinding at Home)
Grind the coffee beans coarsely to prevent over-extraction. A coarse grind helps
avoid a bitter taste in the final brew.

Step 3: Combine Coffee and Water
Place the coarsely ground coffee into the cold brew coffee maker or jar. Add the
filtered water and stir gently to ensure even saturation.

Step 4: Steep in the Refrigerator
Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for an extended steeping time. Let it steep for 12 to 24 hours, depending on your desired strength. The longer the
steeping time, the stronger the cold brew.

Step 5: Strain the Coffee
After steeping, strain the cold brew using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to
separate the liquid from the coffee grounds. If you used a cold brew coffee maker,
follow the manufacturer's instructions for straining.

Step 6: Dilute (Optional)
If the cold brew concentrate is too strong for your liking, you can dilute it with water or milk when serving. Adjust to your preferred taste.

Step 7: Serve Over Ice
Pour the cold brew coffee over ice and add any desired sweeteners or flavourings. Cold brew is typically served cold without the need for additional heat.

Tips:
1. Experiment with Steeping Time: Adjust the steeping time based on your
taste preferences. Longer steeping times produce a stronger and more
concentrated cold brew.
2. Use Quality Water: The quality of water directly influences the taste of cold
brew. Use filtered water for the best results.
3. Storage: Store leftover cold brew in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Cold
brew can be diluted with water or milk when serving.
4. Customize: Add sweeteners, milk, or flavoured syrups to customize your cold
brew to your liking.
Cold brew is a refreshing and smooth coffee beverage, perfect for warm days or as a refreshing pick-me-up. Adjust the variables to create your perfect cold brew coffee experience.
