French Press Coffee Brewing Guide
Step 1: Measure Coffee and Water
Use a ratio of 1:15 (1 part coffee to 15 parts water) as a starting point. For example, if you use 30g of coffee, aim for 450g of water. Adjust based on your taste preferences.

Step 2: Preheat the French Press
Pour a small amount of hot water into the French Press to preheat it. Swirl the water around and then discard it.

Step 3: Add Coffee Grounds
Place the coarse coffee grounds into the French Press.

Step 4: Add Hot Water
Pour the hot water evenly over the coffee grounds, ensuring all grounds are
saturated. Start the timer as soon as you begin pouring.

Step 5: Stir and Bloom
Using a wooden or plastic stirrer, gently stir the coffee-water mixture. Allow it to
bloom for about 30 seconds to release gases.

Step 6: Attach Lid and Let Steep
Attach the lid to the French Press without pressing the plunger down. Let the coffee steep for 3-4 minutes, adjusting the time based on your preferred strength.

Step 7: Press and Serve
After the steeping time, slowly press the plunger down. Apply steady and even
pressure.

Step 8: Pour and Enjoy
Pour the brewed coffee into your mug, and enjoy the rich and full-bodied flavours of your French Press coffee.

Tips:
1. Experiment with Brewing Time: Adjust the steeping time to suit your taste
preferences. Longer steeping times generally result in a stronger brew.
2. Grind Consistency: Use a consistent and coarse grind to prevent over-
extraction and sediment in the cup.
3. Temperature Control: Keep the water temperature within the recommended
range for optimal extraction.
4. Clean the French Press: Clean the French Press thoroughly after each use
to maintain its performance and flavour integrity.
French Press brewing offers a robust and flavourful cup of coffee. Adjust the variables to customize your brew according to your taste preferences.
